Senior Financial Controller

What are your tasks?
The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for the preservation of Company assets and preparation of monthly financial statements as well as preparation of key internal reports that measure company performance in established business units. You are responsible for the Finance Team of 4FTE and will report to the Finance Director. 

Overall your key responsibilities are to:

• Support the Finance Director with statutory reporting deadlines, financial forecasting, and special projects;
• Oversee all Finance and Accounting operations, including budgeting, variance analysis, and timely preparation of monthly financial statements;
• Manage and lead the Finance team (4 FTE), ensuring accurate and complete accounting operations, including month-end closings;
• Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, addressing queries and ensuring timely completion;
• Ensure compliance with statutory accounting, tax regulations, and external reporting requirements (IFRS, Dutch & US GAAP, VAT, and corporate tax filings);
• Monitor company inventory, depository accounts, and financial systems, while training and supporting employees in financial processes;
• Provide technical accounting expertise and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the department.

What you need?

• Bachelor Degree in finance or accounting and at least 5 years of experience;
• Proficient in financial reporting, cost-reduction analysis and compliance with regulations and legislation;
• Industry knowledge in retail and/or wholesale is a plus;
• Skilled in advising stakeholders on financial changes and collaborating cross-functionally;
• Advanced analytical, IT and Excel skills, with experience in financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems;
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and deadline-driven mindset.
