Financial Accountant

What are your tasks?
The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures for the company at all times, the position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including General Ledger preparation, AP/AR Ledger Control Account Reconciliations, Financial Reporting and Year end Audit preparation.

Overall your key responsibilities are to:

• Oversee financial accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting;
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and periodical GL journal postings;
• Assist in VAT and annual tax returns, acting as a contact for tax consultants and authorities;
• Support the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses;
• Manage intercompany postings, reconciliations, and cost center controls;
• Oversee internal retail audits and assist with year-end audit preparations;
• Contribute to process improvements and provide training to staff as needed.

What you need?

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance;
• Several years of professional experience in an international trading company;
• Knowledge and experience with Lease Accounting (IFRS 16) and experience with Dutch GAAP & US GAAP;
• Analytical skills, ability to work with deadlines and ability to work in a team;
• English and Dutch language knowledge;
• Knowledge of retail and/or wholesale is a plus;
• Able to travel occasionally within the assigned territory or other company destinations.
